Migrating from Posist.

Posist (now branded as Restroworks in some markets) doesn't expose a self-serve export tool to end users — exports are run by Posist's support team on request. The good news: you only need to send one email, and we coordinate the rest with their team directly.

5 min on your side 5–7 business days end-to-end Coordinated export · we handle it
How this works

Unlike Foodics or Square, you can't pull the data yourself from the Posist Console. Posist's data extraction goes through their support team — but we've done this enough times to make it painless.

  • You email Posist support requesting your data, with us copied
  • Posist processes the request — typically 3–5 business days
  • They send the files (usually CSV or Excel) to you and us
  • We rebuild your menu inside Shareabill within 48 hours of receiving the data
  • You approve the preview and go live
What we'll need from Posist
Step-by-step
  1. Submit your Shareabill onboarding form

Start with the onboarding form. Pick "Posist" as your current POS — your migration specialist will be assigned automatically and copied on every step that follows.

  2. Email Posist support to request your data

Send an email to support@posist.com (or your dedicated Posist account manager if you have one) requesting a data export. Copy your Shareabill migration specialist on the email.

    Here's a template you can copy-paste:

Subject: Data export request — [Your Restaurant Name] — migration to new platform Hi Posist team, We are migrating our restaurant operations to a new platform and would like to request a complete data export for our account. Restaurant: [Your Restaurant Name] Outlet ID(s): [Your outlet ID, if you know it] Account email: [Your Posist login email] Please include: • Menu master (items, categories, prices, descriptions, SKUs) • Modifier groups and modifier options • Customer database (with order history references) • Tax configuration • Outlet list (if multi-location) • Last 12 months of sales / orders data Please send the export to this email and copy [your migration specialist's email at Shareabill] who is assisting with the migration. Preferred format: CSV or Excel. Thank you, [Your name and role]
If you don't have your specialist's email yet, just send to Posist first and forward the reply to hello@shareabill.app when it arrives. We'll take it from there.
  3. Posist processes the request

Typical turnaround is 3–5 business days. Posist may ask you to confirm authorization (since the data includes guest contacts) or to specify exact outlets. Reply quickly to keep things moving.

If they ask about API access: Politely decline. We don't need API access for a one-time migration — a direct CSV / Excel export is faster, cleaner, and avoids any ongoing dependency.
  4. Forward the files to your secure portal

Once Posist sends the files, drop them into your secure upload portal (link sent after onboarding). If they sent the files as email attachments, just forward the email to your migration specialist — we'll save the attachments to the encrypted store.

Don't worry about file format, naming, or order — Posist's exports vary between accounts and we handle the mapping.

  5. We rebuild inside Shareabill

Within 48 hours of receiving the data, your migration specialist:

    • Maps Posist's menu structure to Shareabill's schema
    • Reconstructs modifier groups and links them to the right items
    • Re-creates tax groups so VAT calculates identically
    • Imports your customer database with all original details preserved
    • Validates pricing line-by-line against your original Posist data
  6. Review the preview, go live

You receive a side-by-side preview: original Posist menu on one side, rebuilt Shareabill version on the other. Flag anything that looks wrong — wrong category, missing modifier, price mismatch — and we fix it before going live.

When you click approve, your QR codes activate and guests can start ordering through Shareabill.

Common questions

What if Posist refuses or delays the export request?

It's rare, but it happens — usually around end-of-contract or billing disputes. Under most jurisdictions (and definitely under DIFC DPL if you operate in Dubai), you have a right to receive your own customer data in a portable format. If Posist pushes back, your migration specialist will help you escalate. We've never had a request go unfulfilled.

Can I keep my Posist contract while testing Shareabill?

Yes — most restaurants run both systems for 1–2 weeks during the transition. We don't ask you to cancel Posist before going live with Shareabill. When you're ready to fully cut over, you can give Posist your contractual notice.

What about the Posist KOT (kitchen) configuration?

If your menu items are routed to specific kitchens (e.g. cold kitchen vs. hot kitchen vs. bar), let your migration specialist know. We can reconstruct that routing inside Shareabill but it's worth confirming separately since it doesn't always come through cleanly in Posist's export.

Privacy — am I allowed to share customer data with Shareabill?

Under DIFC DPL, transferring guest contact data to Shareabill requires that your existing privacy notice covers transfer to platforms like ours. Your Shareabill migration agreement includes this confirmation, and any guest can opt out of the migrated record at any time. We act as a processor for this data on your behalf.

Ready to start? We'll send the email with you.

Submit your onboarding form and within 24 hours your migration specialist sends you a pre-filled email request to Posist support, copied on every reply. Hands-off after that.
